Go Go Vito stands have actually been outlawed in all of North America. That has done nothing to stop new locations from popping up though. And yes, they look that grungy even when they first appear. Popular theory is they congeal together as opposed to being built.

Grymm Ramblings

Animation rant time.

I'm pretty sure most of the internet is watching a different version of Invincible than what I'm seeing.

I'm three episodes in to the new season and I don't understand where the hype is coming from. It feels like the plots are looping back on themselves and nothing is actually happening. The time dilated aliens are back for a third time despite being Omnimanededed. The hivemind squids are back for third time too? Titan is back to fighting the dragon guy. I assume Angstrum will turn up yet again this season as well. Why are the least interesting antagonists getting so much time devoted to them?

The Mauler twins were fun to watch. They had personality. Dead. Rex Splode was a fun character who seemed to actually be growing and evolving. Dead. Machinehead is great to watch, but bogged down by Titan. The Omniman and Allen the Alien stuff is fantastic, but it only occurs as a drip feed in comparison to everything else.

I never read the comics. Maybe I should. The show feels like it suffers from the kind of pacing issues that I feel like a lot of fantasy and sci-fi shows get bogged down by. This feeling like they have to spin their wheels to create enough content to fill time to meet certain lengths and quotas. Can't let the plot happen to fast. Gotta have most of your characters be stupid assholes.

Rant over.

Life has been extra hellish recently for all kinds of reasons. I'm trying to reestablish a proper work-life-art balance and it's been incredibly difficult. I have no idea if I'm going to have the next comic ready for this time next week, but I'm going to try. We're a few pages away from a scene that I've been waiting to draw for like six months and I'm gnashing my teeth to get at it.

  1. Oof looks like Ona is deciding to head for a stable reality zone. No sense of adventure. Knew she was going to bug out soon as she got weird about the boys not being LARPers with creative day jobs.
