Grymm Ramblings

I really enjoy how the art on this one turned out. I'm also really glad that I've been cutting my teeth on lettering ConQuest this past year so I can just drop in to lettering VW without missing a step. You know, like how I committed visual crime the last time I had to letter VW.

This is the first page that's all me at the helm. Dustin and I only hashed out a very loose outline of events from here forward and there was never a chance for him to start spitballing dialogue ideas. So I'm really glad I took things in the direction that would mean having a good back and forth between Grymm and CK here. I don't know about everyone else, but I've always enjoyed the Grymm and CK banter in the face of overwhelming shenanigans.

A few links to give you quick reminders for deep story stuff:

Zopa is Zolar Grymmowski. Grymm's grandfather and possibly the first super hero?

The cane Grymm is wielding was Zolar's and at some point they presumably found it.

In other news, if you've popped on to the site in the past couple of weeks and been met with malware masquerading as a cat filled captcha, I do apologize. The site has now been targeted by said malware three times but thanks to a lot of work by Web Wizard Marron, we are clean and have set down some nice defensive wards.

On a lighter note, wanna know I had on repeat all through the inking and coloring of this page? Fuckin' eldritch swamp rock. Ludo has dropped an absolute banger of a song and I can't get enough.

All right. I'm out. Got tentacle commissions to hash out and roughs for the next Walrus and ConQuest pages to tackle. Hit up the VW  Facebook page or the VW Patreon for general news, updates, and works in progress.

I love you all. Thanks for sticking around for all the weirdness.

  1. This storyline gets The Spider Hole “Dark Child in the Next Aisle” stuck in my head. Or maybe hearing that song gets this storyline stuck in my head.

    1. I think one of the greatest compliments possible is someone linking the comic to music or vice versa. Also, just pull that track up and yeah, that’s some good shit right there.
