See, unlike a lot of the artist out there now, back in 2008 or whenever it was that we were working on the B&W era strips, I was and still do all line work via traditional methods. But unlike the recent color era pages, I used to ink these by way of snazzy Prismacolor Premier pens. Since those were the same pens I'd use to ink commissions and other pieces, I opted to take older pens that were no longer good for smoother linework inking and use them to shade with. This page however, I decided to go all out with and do a more heavily inked, night time scene since I had some downtime in the wake of have episodes 49 and 50 done early.
To date, this is probably the one piece of older Walrus art that gets the most compliments. Its also one of the few pre-color era pages I'm still proud of.
