Grymm Ramblings
I already did entire Geek-Life article on Gravity Falls that you can read over here. I'll be doing one for the Randy Cunningham: 9th Grade Ninja show too soon. (Maybe once I see a couple more episodes.) Oh hey! Did you know that we're still selling copies of the Volume 1 PDF? Did you know it's chock full of extras that you will never ever be able to see here on the site and every single sale goes to helping fund the site and the materials that go into the site? Did you know that you don't even NEED a Paypal account to buy one? You just need to contact us at voodoowalrus@gmail.com to learn about payment alternatives? Well that's all pretty awesome isn't it? Clicky clicky Walrus Embracers!

Eh I think Nickelodeon left him a broken spirited man, you know how Disney likes to feed on that. Not long ago I passed a Hot Topic selling “steampunk dog-suit Gir” shirts and lost a bit of hope for Invader Zim ever returning.

On the comic: Grymm is injecting fun. Where did he get this “fun”?

I am also curious about that.

Secreted from Fun-verines. They’re like wolverines, but instead of blood and organs, they’re bodies are filled with an oxygenated liquid form of fun.Fun-verines are also vegetables despite being carnivores, having fur, and being completely bipedal.

ZIM almost returned last year. The execs were in talk with Jhonen to revive the series with all the talent returning. Then at the very apex, there was a shifting of power and the new blood just snuffed it.
The only way ZIM’s returning now is if there’s another shift and negotiations revive and actually come through, or if ZIM goes the Doug route and gets snatched by Disney. But considering that Nick is probably still making money off reruns, I don’t see that happening.

“Gravity Falls” is the greatest thing to happen to animation in a decade??? Shirley you jest!!! As far as Disney productions go, “Phineas and Ferb” is much better and wittier. Try “Invader Zim” some time. Absolutely brilliant.

“Try Invader ZIM?” Heh. Try Invader ZIM? Oh ho ho. A challenger appears indeed. Invader ZIM will ALWAYS take one of the highest positions in my heart considering how much I owe to Jhonen Vasquez helping to inspire me. Both from ZIM and his various comics.
Hell, I read my Director’s Cut of Johnny the Homicadal Manias until it fell apart. I watched my ZIM dvds until they abandoned all hope of possibly ever being freed and snuffed their own life forces out. My own comic avatar considers Jhonen Vasquez to be his spirit guide: http://voodoowalrus.com/?p=1947.
But alas, ZIM last actual episode aired… about 10 years ago, thus discounting it from “best in the past decade”.
And yes, while Phineas and Ferb is damn high quality and very enjoyable, (in fact, it was the first sign I saw in years that made me think animation was finally moving past the insipid hell-hole of Aqua Teen Hunger Force and Fairly Odd Parents schlock) Gravity Falls is beating it out in my heart. By way of humor, designs, and theme.
That, and as much as I enjoyed Phineas and Ferb for a good long while, as of late it’s really becoming hit or miss with me. One episode’s really fantastic, then the next couple are “meh” then another one is just off its game, and then it’s good again. Thus, it loses Grymm-Points.
Also, only my Great Aunt Ralph calls me Shirley. But that’s because she’s been suffering from dementia since ’87.
